HomeLink turns 75 - Try home exchange free of charge for three months

Bamberg - HomeLink will celebrate its 75th anniversary in 2028. Founded in 1953, the home-exchange organisation connects people who let each other use their homes while travelling. To mark the anniversary, travellers can try HomeLink free for three months.

During this period, they can publish their home, search worldwide for exchange partners and make contacts. Membership is required only when a home exchange is formally agreed. It costs €169 per year - around 46 cents per day. There are no additional overnight charges, and members may exchange as often as they wish.

A family of four can save approximately €2,000 to €4,000 in accommodation costs on a two-week holiday, depending on destination and season. A private home also usually offers more space than a hotel room, together with a kitchen and often a garden, bicycles or play facilities for children.

"Home exchange is much more than an affordable way to travel. Our members experience a country from the perspective of the people who live there. Personal connections and long-lasting friendships often develop," says Marie Murphy, President of HomeLink International.

HomeLink is based on personal contact, mutual trust and binding exchange agreements. Members receive support from national HomeLink representatives. A membership also includes an exchange cancellation protection of up to €2,000, subject to the applicable conditions.

HomeLink was founded in 1953 by New York teacher David Ostroff and is regarded as the world’s oldest international home-exchange organisation. Today, the network connects people in more than 70 countries.
