Wir tauschen schon seit etwa 17 Jahren, zuerst vor allem wegen der Kosten der Reisen mit drei Kindern in den Norden. Mittlerweile ohne Kinder aber begeistert von der Idee.
Das Homelink Büro war immer sehr freundlich, schnell und hilfsbereit.
Das beste ist aber der Kontakt zu den Tauschpartnern. Erst letzte Woche kam wieder eine Postkarte aus England, mit der teilte uns eine ehemalige Tauschpartnerin (Die wir später auch privat ohne Tausch besucht haben) mit, dass sie umgezogen ist.
Die Kontakte zu den Tauschpartnern sind für uns das beste an homelink.

We've been swapping for about 17 years, initially mainly because of the expense of traveling north with three children. Meanwhile without children but enthusiastic about the idea.
The Homelink office has always been very friendly, fast and helpful.
But the best thing is the contact to the exchange partners. Just last week we received a postcard from England from a former exchange partner (whom we later visited privately without an exchange) telling us that she had moved.
For us, the best thing about homelink is the contacts to the exchange partners.

Wir haben nun das 5. Mal mit Homelink einen Haustausch-Urlaub gemacht und sind stets aufs Neue überrascht, welche tollen Erfahrungen wir machen. Sowohl die Suche des Tauschpartners als auch die verbindliche Absprachen mit ihm klappen prima. Das Sahnehäubchen ist dann natürlich immer der Haustausch selbst, den wir als sehr bereichernd wahrnehmen.

The icing on the cake is of course always the home exchange itself, which we perceive as very enriching.

Eine gemütliche Wohnung Mitten im Kreuzberg
Die Wohnung von Simone befindet sich an bester Lage direkt gegenüber der Bushaltestelle und in Fussdistanz zur U-Bahn. Viele Lebensmittelgeschäfte, Cafés und Restaurants befinden sich in unmittelbarer Nähe. Die Wohnung ist sehr geräumig und liebevoll eingerichtet. Die Küche ist perfekt ausgestattet und verfügt über einen grossen Holztisch, an dem man wunderbar essen kann. Simone war sehr hilfsbereit, auch während des Tauschs, und hatte mir im Vorfeld viele nützliche Ratschläge gegeben. Badezimmer und Küche, sowie alle anderen Räume, waren blitzblank und aufgeräumt. Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt in Simones Wohnung und die Tage in Berlin vollkommen genossen.

A cozy apartment in the middle of Kreuzberg
Simone's apartment is in a prime location directly opposite the bus stop and within walking distance of the subway. Many grocery stores, cafes and restaurants are in the immediate vicinity. The apartment is very spacious and lovingly furnished. The kitchen is perfectly equipped and has a large wooden table where you can eat wonderfully. Simone was very helpful, also during the exchange, and had given me a lot of useful advice beforehand. Bathroom and kitchen, as well as all other rooms, were sparkling clean and tidy. I felt very comfortable in Simone's apartment and thoroughly enjoyed the days in Berlin.

Ein wunderbarer Tausch, die Kommunikation mit dem Tauschpartner klappte sehr gut, die Sprache auf beiden Seiten war englisch. Das Haus war genau so wie beschrieben, ein schöner Garten mit Blick auf den Fjord, ein Bootsanleger mit Motorboot und direkter Zugang zum Wasser.
In der Küche stand ein netter Willkommensgruß.

A wonderful exchange, the communication with the exchange partner worked very well, the language on both sides was English. The house was exactly as described, a beautiful garden overlooking the fjord, a jetty with a motor boat and direct access to the water.
There was a nice welcome in the kitchen.

Perfekte "Housesitter" = Haushüten während die Besitzer Urlaub machen

Gösta und Heike waren die perfekten Haussitter während unseres nicht-simultanen Tausches in Stockholm. Wir wussten Haus und Gärtchen bei ihnen in besten Händen. Im vergangenen Jahr hatten wir uns bereits getroffen und es wird sicher auch mal einen simultanen Tausch geben. Wir freuen uns darauf. Danke nochmal an die Leipziger Gabi und Kurt

we had a very good time in your lovely house. Thank you for the delicious meal and the nice wellcome gifts. We enjoied very much the trips to Kopenhagen, Roskilde, Rorvig and Kallundborg. We made several bicycle tours along the border of the northsea with spectacular views all around.
