WE ARE LOOKING FOR A EXCHANGE IN SUMMER 2006 BETWEEN 12-TH OF AUGUST
AND 2-ND OF SEPTEMBER.

We are a family with 4 well educated children in the age of 16, 12,
11 and 7 years. Our house is near the city, but is in a quiet
neighborhood. It offers all substantial conditions to you for a
relaxing vacation. You can go to Berlin or Dresden in only one hour.

Leipzig is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city with over 500,000
inhabitants and a rich cultural and mercantile past. Some of the
most famous German names are connected with Leipzig – Wagner was
born here, Goethe studied here, Bach worked here – and the city has
also witnessed its share of history; Napoleon Bonaparte was defeated
here in October 1813, Germany's first democratic political party was
founded here in 1863 and the collapse of the German Democratic
Republic was directly precipitated by the million-strong "Monday
demonstrations" that took place in the city in the autumn of 1989.

The beautiful and compact old centre is full of Renaissance and
baroque churches, as well as street markets, one of Europe’s oldest
universities and a number of ultra-modern buildings. At the
beginning of the 20th century Leipzig was a trade fair city, and the
shops and markets were arranged in interconnecting ‘passages’ that
facilitated trade. Many of these have now been restored to their
former glory – Mädler Passage and Barthels are two of the best.
